The Basics of Military Time

In military time, the day is divided into 24 hours, starting from midnight (00:00) to the following midnight (24:00). The hours are represented by two digits ranging from 00 to 23. For example, instead of saying "8 PM," military time would indicate it as "20:00."

Conversion to Regular Time Format

To convert military time to regular (12-hour) format:

  1. If the hour value is between 0 and 11 (inclusive), it remains the same in regular format.
  2. If the hour value is between 12 and 23 (inclusive), subtracting it by twelve will give you its equivalent in regular format. For example:
    • 18:00 becomes 6 PM
    • 22:30 becomes 10:30 PM
